James has spent 20 years in the snowsports industry, managing programmes for leading tour operators in the UK and overseas.
He now has a number of roles, as a director of ski accommodation website Altitude Holidays and specialist tour operator Whistler Experience.
He is also the founder of LISTEX – The London International Snowsports Trade Exchange, a business-to-business event for the UK and International snowsports industry.
James has an MBA and as founder and director of Expedient Marketing, he provides marketing and strategy consultancy services to a number of businesses within the snowsports industry and beyond. James lives near Tunbridge Wells, and is just 5 minutes away from a dry ski slope!

Gaz retired from teaching as former teacher and head of a successfully run PRU school.
Gaz brings some great experience to the NSSA. With an exceptional way with people, and some valuable experience in both ski teaching and coaching.
He has represented GB in Long Course triathlon in Japan. Sweden and France. I have represented GB in sailing in America and Europe and held National and European titles. A qualified dinghy racing instructor, and ski instructor. He is a qualified sports masseur (FSMT) and has previously held the post of Chairman of the International Canoe Sailing Association for eight years.

Phil Brown

Phil has been coaching for over 25 years with credits as head coach for numerous UK clubs.
He has been Head Coach for The British Children’s Ski Team. He has been running Impulse and BISS Racing since 2008, with a year-round programme in both the alps and the UK, heading up a team of experienced coaches. He has worked as national team head coach for children and for older athletes attending events such as the Alpine World Champs, European Youth Winter Olympics and world student winter games.
Phil also attended the 2016 Youth Olympics with Team GB, coaching ski cross. More recently, Phil is a coaching mentor and tutor for aspirant coaches through UKCP and BASI. Phils Ethos is simple and has served his athletes well over the years, whether novice racers or international racers. Qualified to the current highest available UK coaching qualification UKCP L4, Phil is passionate about schools snowsports.

Dan grew up on the ski hill, first had skis on his feet at eleven months and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of skiing at school age to the committee.
During his school years, Dan first competed internationally at eight, went on to be a member of the British Children’s Team and English Alpine Ski Team, worked as an instructor and a race coach, set up his school ski team and represented England at the World School’s Ski Championships.
After school Dan switched sports, representing Great Britain at Roller Hockey, playing Ice Hockey in France and coaching football and roller hockey. He has become a successful entrepreneur, building a flourishing food & drink business, and working with some of the UK’s most iconic food brands.
He has come back to his first love, to share the experiences he has gained away from the slopes.

Lou used to race as a child, competing with ESSKIA at school events and on the British circuit. She has worked with her husband Phil running Impulse and BISS since 2010 and has some great experience running the pastoral care for race camps and becoming the CWO for the club.
She is currently working through her coaching and teaching qualifications and working part-time to help run Impulse and BISS whilst looking after her son, Charlie, born in 2016.
