Lou used to race as a child, competing with ESSKIA at schools events and on the British circuit. She has worked with husband Phil running Impulse and BISS since 2010 and has some great experience running the pastoral care for race camps and becoming the CWO for the club. She is currently working through her coaching and teaching qualifications and working part time helping run Impulse and BISS whilst looking after her son, Charlie, born in 2016.
Helen graduated from Chichester university as a qualified PE teacher in 2004. Having worked in a number of different schools in permanent posts and on supply. She currently teaches at Steyning Grammar School and has done for the last 9 years. During her time at Steyning, she has been fortunate enough to be involved in a number of school ski trips. It wasn’t until the winter of 2002 that she first tried skiing which, of course, she loved. One thing led to another and in 2005, Helen found herself in Meribel for the season running a chalet. On returning to the UK and securing a permanent teaching job I still enjoyed regular trips to the Alps. More recently times have changed. She now has a husband (himself a former ski racer) 2 little boys, and a house. However the skiing hasn’t stopped. We are currently planning to venture over to Italy for our first family skiing holiday this winter, although perhaps the dynamics of ski holidays may have changed with a 1 year old and 3 year old in tow.
